Heath Perkins – Owner/Instructor

Graduated from The University of Georgia with a B.B.A. in Management Information Systems. He also received his M.B.A. from Norwich University in Vermont. While in college Heath cheered for the University of Georgia and Austin Peay State University. Heath also performed in the opening ceremonies of the 1996 Centennial Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. Heath has over 20 years of cheerleading coaching experience and has coached competitive cheerleading teams to numerous regional, state, and national titles. Additionally, he has helped Columbus State University become one of the top Division II cheerleading programs in the Nation. Heath is Emergency First Responder, CPR, and AED for children/ adult and First Aid instructor.

Joey Gill (Manager)

Graduated from Winder-Barrow High School. He cheered for five years with Columbus State University and finished in the top five every year. His last year in college he was awarded the Rebecca “Granny” Davis Award (cheerleader of the year). Joey also cheered for two years in high school and on All-Stars, where he won many regional and national titles. He has coached cheerleading and tumbling for twenty-two years, and has coached teams to over fifty regional, state, and national titles. Joey is certified through the United Cheerleading Instructor and Safety Certification, and an Emergency First Responder for first aid and CPR.

Mandy Hood (All-Stars Director/Instructor)

Graduated from Shiloh High School and Columbus State University. Additionally, she was a part of the competition cheerleading squad all four years of high school. The squad placed first at the State Competition in 2002. She was also a three time All-American cheerleader. Mandy is a member of the Columbus State University Cheerleading squad and has been for four years now. The team placed second in 2004 and second in 2005 at UCA College Nationals. Mandy is certified through the United Cheerleading Instructor and Safety Certification, and the Emergency First Responder for first aid and CPR.

Marquise Strong (Summer Camp Director / Instructor / All-Star Coach)

Graduated from Shiloh High School and also cheered for three years as a member of the S.W.A.T Team, Shiloh’s Varsity competition team. He was a member of the 2002 State Championship team and was an All-American in 2003. He has won numerous individual stunt-off honors in both school and All-Stars. Marquise was also a member of the nationally ranked Columbus State University Large Coed cheerleading squad. He has been coaching cheerleading and tumbling for more than 12 years and has lead teams to numerous regional and national championships. He is also a choreographer who has worked with many teams in both GHSA and All-Stars as well as internationally with the DoD. Marquise is certified through the United Cheerleading Instructor and Safety Certification and Emergency First Response, and is CPR certified.

Dakota Bias (Front Receptionist/All-Star Coach)

Dakota graduated from Central High School. She currently attends Auburn University as a junior and is studying Secondary Education in History. Dakota has cheered for 12 years, two of them at United Cheerleading. Dakota is certified through the United Cheerleading Instructor and Safety Certification, and an Emergency First Responder for first aid and CPR.

Drew Lyons (Instructor / All-Star Coach)

Graduated from Troup High School. Drew currently attends Columbus State University and is majoring in Geology. He was a part of his high school cheerleading squad for 3 years. Drew was a member of the 2008 UCA college national champions with Columbus State University. Drew also cheered for the Python All-Stars. Drew is certified through the United Cheerleading Instructor and Safety Certification, and Emergency First Responder for first aid and CPR.

Brittny Shackelford (Instructor / All-Star Coach)

Graduated from Shaw High School in 2007. Brittny was a member of the Shaw High School cheerleading squad for 3 years and cheered as a Python All-Star for 4 years including an undefeated season and more than 15 national titles. She also cheered for 2 years on the nationally ranked Columbus State Cheerleading team. She has coached cheerleading and tumbling for the past 8 years. Brittny is certified through the United Cheerleading Instructor and Safety Certification, and an Emergency First Responder for first aid and CPR.

Xavier Lewis (Instructor)

Xavier D. Lewis Graduated from Hardaway High school in 2016 where he cheered for 1 year of competition cheer. He has been coaching tumbling and cheerleading for 2 years. Currently, Xavier is a sophomore at Columbus State pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice. He also cheers for Columbus State competition team. Xavier is certified through the United Cheerleading Instructor and Safety Certification, and an Emergency First Responder for first aid and CPR.

Brianna Loryn Shackelford (All-Star Coach/Floor Manager)

Graduated from Harris County High School. Brianna cheered for the Python All-stars for over 10 years. During her time on All-stars her teams won multiple National Championships and competed at the Summit competition. She cheered for Columbus State University for one year. She is currently enrolled at CSU as a pre-nursing major. Brianna is certified through the United Cheerleading Instructor and Safety Certification, and an Emergency First Responder for first aid and CPR.

Dominic Watts (Instructor)

Graduated from Coffee High School. Dominic cheered for one year in high school then went on to cheer for Faulkner State Community College for two years. He then enrolled at Columbus State University and cheered for CSU for 2 years. Dominic is majoring in Health and Physical Education. He currently has a degree in business management. Dominic is certified through the United Cheerleading Instructor and Safety Certification and Emergency First Responder and is CPR certified.

Sammyra Smith (All-Star Coach/Instructor)

Sammyra Smith graduated from Shaw High School in 2016, where she did competition cheerleading for 2 years and dance team for 1 year. She cheered at United Cheerleading for 14 consecutive years winning many National championships and competing at the Summit competition during her cheerleading career. Sammyra has been coaching cheerleading and tumbling since 2016. She is currently a sophomore in college at Georgia Military College and will be transferring to CSU to major in exercise science. Sammyra is certified through the United Cheerleading Instructor and Safety Certification, and an Emergency First Responder for first aid and CPR.

Mackenzie Hintay (All-Star Coach/Instructor)

Mackenzie graduated from High School in 2014. She cheered for 5 years in Clarksville, Tennessee where she also volunteered and coached. Before she began her cheerleading career, she did competitive dance/choreography in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Mackenzie began working/cheering for United Cheerleading in 2014. As a cheerleader and an assistant coach, she won many regional and national titles. She also won Commander awards for Public Service inside and outside the military bases where she lived. Mackenzie is certified through the United Cheerleading Instructor and Safety Certification, and an Emergency First Responder for first aid and CPR.

Alexis Blalock (All-Star Coach/Instructor)

Graduated from Columbus High School in 2016. Alexis cheered for her high school team for 2 years, finishing 4th in the State at the GHSA State Championship. Alexis also cheered for the Python All-stars for 10 years. During her time on All-stars her teams won multiple National Championships and competed at the Summit competition. She cheered for Columbus State University for one year. She is currently enrolled at Columbus State University as a Pre-Nursing major. Alexis is certified through the United Cheerleading Instructor and Safety Certification, and an Emergency First Responder for first aid and CPR.

Charzhondra Davis (All-Star Coach/Instructor)

Graduated from Calhoun High School. She competed and cheered both basketball and football spirit squads all four years of her High School career. She won numerous individual stunt/ jump-off contests and was an All-American cheerleader in 2012. She is currently a Senior at Columbus State University where she studies Sociology. She also cheered for Columbus State for four years on both the coed and all girl squads’ placing in the top 5 at College Nationals all 4 years. She received the Rebecca “Granny” Davis Award (cheerleader of the year) at Columbus State University. She has coached tumbling and All-Star cheerleading for years and volunteer coached special needs cheer program in 2012. Charzhondra is certified through the United Cheerleading Instructor and Safety Certification, and an Emergency First Responder for first aid and CPR.

Insley Owens (Floor Manager)

Graduated from Harris County High School. Insley cheered both football and competition cheer all four years for her High School cheer team. She received numerous titles from Harris County, and was their first ever Cheerleader of the year. Through HCHS she was able to dual enroll her senior year giving her sophomore status in college as she graduated high school. She is currently a Sophomore at Columbus State University where she studies Health sciences. She also has cheered at United Cheerleading 15 years and competitively for 11 years. She is currently on the all-star team, Mojave Pythons. Under United Cheerleading Insley has won many national titles and competed at The Summit ranking top three. Insley is certified through the United Cheerleading Instructor and Safety Certification, and an Emergency First Responder for first aid and CPR.

Bailey Russell (Instructor/All-Star Coach)

Bailey graduated from Northside High School. She currently attends Columbus State University as a sophomore as a pre-nursing major. Bailey cheered for python all-stars for 11 years and placed top 5 at The Summit for 4 years. Bailey is certified through the United Cheerleading Instructor and Safety Certification, and an Emergency First Responder for first aid and CPR.

Taylor Drakeford (All-Star Coach/Instructor)

Taylor graduated from Central High School in 2018. She did competitive and football cheerleading all four years of high school. She is currently a junior at Columbus State University, where she is majoring in Nursing. Taylor cheered for Python Allstars for six years. Taylor is certified through the United Cheerleading Instructor and Safety Certification, and an Emergency First Responder for first aid and CPR.

Austin Cook (All-Star Coach/Instructor)

Austin is a former graduate and cheerleader of The Ohio State University. Austin Is currently attending Columbus State University to obtain a Master’s Degree in Organizational and Servant Leadership. He will also be CSU’s assistant cheerleading coach. Austin has coached all levels of tumbling and squads for several years. Austin is certified through the United Cheerleading Instructor and Safety Certification, and an Emergency First Responder for first aid and CPR.
